Welcome to my very first blog post on my new and improved website.
I hope that you guys enjoy what this fashion/style page has to offer. I've got some cool things in store for this year, and I can't wait to share with you all. I plan on doing more features, how-to's, and of course a few giveaways. So enjoy!
I am excited to release this first set of photos with up and coming photographer/actress Amanda Sweet (@AmandaSweet106) and Ramona (@Flossyssuitcase).
I get an Instagram message out of the blue and it was Flossy's Suitcase. I know her and love her shop in the nook of Highland Park, so I'm excited. She's like, "I got a few pieces and you should come model them for me." "Ugh, heck yeah. When and where?" was my response.
What I envisioned was that I was going to style myself as well as my turban. You know because I am a stylist and all. But I was open to any changes they had. Amanda and Ramona were like uh uh girl, we got this. So that's when I became an actual model. lol. And let me tell you, it's hard work.
I was totally out of my element. Of course, I've modeled before but never have I been an actual model where people were telling me exactly what to wear. I was up for the challenge. I wanted to step outside of my comfort zone and be different and daring. And I must say the photos turned out lovely. What yall think?
I felt empowered, beautiful, and straight queen-like during the shoot. Shout out to Amanda for the rad photos and great direction. She made me feel very comfortable and we had some great laughs, too. And thanks to Ramona for the furs, the jewels, and the African Print turbans. Yall go check her store out: 12521 Woodward Ave., Highland Park, MI. She's got some amazing vintage pieces.
